Q? What is Romp in the Swamp?

A. The Romp in the Swamp is a 3+ mile obstacle course. All courses feature man made and natural obstacles.
Romp in the Swamp is designed for anyone and everyone. You can run/walk/jog the course as you see fit. We will test your endurance, agility, strength, and teamwork.
 

Q? Is run timed?

A. Yes. The run will be chipped timed. (the first wave is Elite) Each person will be responsible to return the chip after the course is completed.
 

Q? Can I get a refund on registration?

A. All registrations are non-refundable, but you may transfer to another person for a $5 fee until October 1st.
 

Q? Will there be showers?

A. Yes. We will have fresh running water to rinse off in.
 

Q? Is there a time limit to finish the course?

A. No. You can walk, jog, run, or be carried!
 

Q? Can we check bags?

A. Yes, we will have a free bag check area.
 

Q? Can I skip an obstacle?

A. Yes, if you are not in the Elite Wave, but why would you want to??
 

Q? Can I register the day of the event?

A. You can if we are not sold out. Prices are higher if you wait.
 

Q? What is the minimum age to race?

A. 14 for the 3+ mile course. Kids races: 5-8 and 9-13.
 

Q? How many awards will be given out?

A. Awards will be given to the Top 3 Men, Women and Age Group Finishers from the Elite Wave, the Largest Group, Best Dressed Individual and Best Dressed Group.

All finishers will receive a participant medal.
 

Q? Are teams allowed?

A. Yes!
 

Q? Will there be photographers at the event?

A. What would a race be without pictures!!! Oh yeah, and they will be FREE!!!!

Q? Will there be food and drinks?

A. Yes. We will have vendors on site.
 

Q? Is there a parking fee?

A. Yes – $10.00 per car (cash only).
 

Q? Are pets allowed?

A. No!
 

Q? What about the weather?

A. Obviously, there are possible cancelations: such as, mandatory evacuations or acts of God. We just don’t think that will happen.

Q? Can I pick up my number and chip early?

A. Yes. We will have a pick up location to be announced later. This will be on facebook page and website and an email will be sent out.
 

Q? What time should I arrive?

A. One hour is a safe bet. This way any traffic issues or unforeseen circumstances will only be a pleasant obstacle on the way to much more severe forms of torture.
 

Q? What do I bring?

A. A signed copy of your race waiver and a photo ID. We recommend closed in shoes and lightweight apparel. We also recommend a plastic bag or two for your muddy clothes post-race and a clean change of clothes – don’t forget clean shoes!
 

Q? What should I do when I arrive on site?

A. Once you arrive on-site:

1) Go to the “Registrations” tent.
2) Sign your Participant Waiver and show your ID.
3) Shirts, bib numbers, and chips will be given after paperwork is complete.
4) Secure your chip to your person. Chips will cost $4 if not returned.
5) Attach your BIB number to your shirt with safety pins.
6)Check your bag at bag check (if you don’t have anyone to hold or watch it)
7) Find starting line and have a great race.
8)After race, turn in your chip and you will be given a finisher’s medal!
